With Rison falling to Parkers Chapel, and Earl falling to Harrisburg, it allowed Cave City, Harrisburg, and Lamar to move up in the rankings.
Speaking of Rison, the Wildcats will host Prescott this Friday night at 7:30 PM for the 7-3A Conference Championship. This will be the ArkansasVarsity.com Game of the Week. Will the Wildcats bounce back after the loss to Parkers Chapel, or will Prescott wrap up their second 7-3A Conference Championship in as many years?
Charleston, Fountain Lake, Harding Academy, and Rivercrest look to be legitimate State Title contenders.
Class 4A featured another Top 5 team that went down to an un-ranked team, as the Warren Lumberjacks fell to the Hamburg Lions 7-6. Warren Defensive Co-Ordinator Dustin Prescott told us this week that they simply did not execute inside of the red zone, where they had several chances to punch the ball in. He hopes they get things tightened up before the playoffs.
Nashville, Shiloh Christian, Booneville, Bald Knob, and Osceola continued to get it done this past week, and all look to be legitimate contenders as well.
Week 10 in Class 5A. What a week this is going to be. Sadly, a Top 5 team is going to fall this week. Greenwood vs Alma. #2 vs #5. Who will it be? This is a big time rivalry game where both teams will lay it all on the line for bragging rights over the next year. The only bad part about this game this week, is the fact a Top 5 team will fall in Week 10.
Monticello stays atop the rankings, while Camden Fairview and Forrest City are also in the Top 5 along with Greenwood and Alma.
Monticello is the real deal. Can anyone stop them in the playoffs?
El Dorado stays atop the rankings again this week. They have faced several tests this season, and have passed them all. They will have one final test on Thursday night though, when they travel to face the #4 Pine Bluff Zebras. As in Class 5A, yet another Top 5 team is going to fall.
Will El Dorado pass one final regular season test before heading into the playoffs, or will Pine Bluff overcome all of their regular season woes, and get over the hump before the playoffs by beating the top team in Class 6A?
West Memphis, Watson Chapel, and Jonesboro share the Top 5 with El Dorado and Pine Bluff, and the way the 6A is looking, any of the Top 5 teams could end up with a State Championship. They are all legitimate contenders this season.
As we have stated all throughout this weeks wrap up, Week 10 is a huge week. Class 7A also features a huge match up between two Top 5 teams. In fact, this one is between #1 Springdale Har-Ber, and #2 Bentonville.
What a game this is going to be! Both teams have overcome several obstacles throughout the regular season, and is all comes down to this Friday night for the Conference Championship.
Regardless of who wins this one, these two teams have the ability to reach Little Rock this year.
North Little Rock, Bryant, and Russelville look to be legit contenders as well.
Week 10 ArkansasVarsity.com Overall Natural State Top 10
As stated above, the Top Two teams in the entire state will face off this week! Something has to give when these two powerhouse teams collide this Friday night.
North Little Rock moves into the Top 5 this week after being previously un-ranked.

a Greenbrier win coupled with a Greenwood win over Alma gives the Panthers the 2nd seed in the state tourney.....a Vilonia win drops Greenbrier to a 4 seed and Vilonia garners the 3rd seed.
Faulkner County bragging rights are on the line.
and Luke, the title for 5A goes thru the West, not Monticello....

Ha! I think Monticello has what it takes to get it done!
Only time will tell!

No offense Ump but if Vilonia is really in the conversation then the title will come down to Monticello and someone else. I have seen Vilonia and Monticello up close and there is a huge difference in talent between those two teams. No doubt both are well coached but Vilonia needs to mature a little more.
